Education
I received my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at the University of Connecticut.  GO HUSKIES!!! I continue to learn everyday from the amazing people in my life, especially from my students!

Experience
1999-2006     5th & 6th grade math & 6th grade reading in Ohio
2006-2007     6th grade in Connecticut
2007-2008     5th grade in Connecticut
2008-2009     I moved to Tennessee and stayed at home with my kiddos, Katelyn & Jonathan
2009-2010     4th grade here at CES
2010-now      5th grade here at CES   

 

Bio
Teaching is not only my profession, but my passion.  I love to teach at the upper grades, and truly believe this is what I am meant to do.

 

When I am not at school, I spend a lot of time outside.  I am certainly not a master gardener, but I find nothing more relaxing than being in the dirt!  I love to spend time at the beach or hike, especially with my family. My husband, Chris, works at Olin here in Charleston. Our daughter, Katelyn, is at Belmont University, and our son, Jonathan, is at Walker Valley High School.

I am so excited to be teaching Reading & Language Arts this year.  My goal is for every Charleston 5th grader to experience the joy of reading and for all of my students to grow as learners and leaders. You will be ready for middle school!
